Dr. Jatinder Dhillon
Nova Southeastern University
Dr. Jatinder Dhillon is originally from New Jersey. She received her undergraduate and Master of Dental Surgery in Pediatric Dentistry degrees from the Govt Dental College & Hospital in India. She went on to receive her Postdoctoral certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Dhillon is a member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
She was influenced to become a dentist at 6 years old when her baby tooth was loose and needed to be removed. Her dentist took less than a minute to remove it and prescribed ice cream! After that moment, she decided that’s what she was going to do: Take care of kids and prescribe ice cream! In her free time, she enjoys traveling and reading. She is married with a daughter and a son.
Dr. Robert McCarver
Baylor College of Dentistry
Dr. Robert McCarver graduated from Hale Center High School, Angelo State University and then Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr McCarver practiced adult dentistry for over 20 years, doing many advanced procedures including IV sedation. In 2008, he had the opportunity to join Kids Dental in Odessa where he focused his attention on treating kids. Helping kids is now his passion and he finds it extremely rewarding. In his spare time, Dr. McCarver races bicycles on a highly competitive level throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. He has three wonderful kids, Chelsea, Kori and Jarrett. He attends Stonegate Church in Midland.
Dr. Naurine Shah
University Of Alabama at Birmingham
Dr. Naurine Shah is from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for her postgraduate degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Baqai University in Karachi Pakistan. Dr. Shah is a certified orofacial myologist with an interest in myofunctional orthodontics. She is passionate about working with the oro-facial muscles to prevent sleep-disordered breathing and growth disorders by addressing functional issues like incorrect swallowing and mouth breathing.
Dr. Shah was influenced by her experiences with relapse of orthodontic treatment, which made her realize she needed to pursue orthodontics as a career so she could treat the cause and not just the symptoms of crooked teeth. Her main focus is helping patients eat, drink, breathe, sleep better and prevent relapse for life. Dr. Shah was on the board of directors for the International Association of Oral Myology and has helped mentor numerous speech pathologists and hygienists in the field of orofacial myology. She has taken various advanced courses in oro-facial myology and has lectured both in the U.S. and Canada for over 12 years. She is a member of IAOM, AOMT, ADA and AOA.
Dr. Shah is a die-hard NHL fan and her favorite team is the Calgary Flames. She loves trying new foods, hiking, reading and watching mystery movies. She also has two children —Dayyan, 18, and Annya, 15.
Dr. Tejaswi Singana
Nova Southeastern University in Florida
Tejaswi Singana received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Kadapa, India. Additionally, she completed her master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from Vokkaligara Sangha Dental College and Hospital, KIMS, Bangalore, India, as well as from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. During her early teenage years, Dr. Singana had to undergo orthodontic treatment, which left a lasting impression that inspired her to embark on a path towards dentistry.
With experience and training in providing dental care to children with special needs, Dr. Singana understands the unique challenges they may face. She has undergone extensive training and education specifically focused on pediatric dentistry that includes knowledge and expertise in child development, behavior management, and the unique dental needs of children of all ages. Working with kids never fails to brighten her day. In her free time, Dr. Singana enjoys painting and singing.
Dr. Matthew Stephenson
Creighton University School of Dentistry
Dr. Matthew Stephenson joined Abbeville in 2010. He grew up in Utah where he completed his undergraduate studies at Utah Valley University before attending Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Stephenson is a father of four and has been married for almost 10 years to a woman he says is much too good for him! He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially getting to know his patients and being able to constantly learn more.
